Good selection, attractive set, but a bit expensive and lightweight
An attractive cookware set that covers the basics. The well-made pans offer a good cooking foundation, but are a little too lightweight.
I've been cooking elaborately for years and have used a wide variety of kitchen gear. Like most seasoned cooks, I have my favorite pans and pan-types, and habits in how I use them. I was pleased to see several of my "usual" sizes included in this set, including the 3qt saute pan, the 6qt dutch-oven style stockpot, and the 10" skillet. The 2qt saucepan is adequate, though I usually prefer a 2.5qt. The sides of the saute pan are high enough to stir a thick pasta sauce, the stockpot has a wide enough base to allow meat to brown.
The one omission is a heavy-bottomed 12" skillet, something I use regularly for frying and searing.
Less useful is the 1qt saucepan-- there's not much I'd make in a 1qt that wouldn't be fine in the 2qt, and the 8.5" skillet is too small to be useful-- it's fine if you want to fry an egg, or saute garlic (or a single shallot) separately, but I prefer to do that in the larger pan with the rest of the ingredients, the better to meld the flavors (and to have fewer dishes to wash). Most things that you would sear, toast, or saute will benefit from being in contact with the pan's cooking surface, making a small surface area less useful. But four (out of 6) useful pans is a much better ratio than most sets.
Caveats: Unlike my Calphalon pans, the handles on these are only rated oven-safe to 350F (rather than a more useful 450-500F ceiling). After 3 months use on a glass-top electric range, the 10" skillet (the piece I've been using most) has dark mars on the bottom (bad if you hang/display your pans).
The largest caveat is that these pans are entry-level thin. They do heat up quickly, but the thinness makes them bad for cooking dishes where the pan temperature needs to stay low-but-even, or where you're going to be adding cold items to the hot pan (eg, searing-- these are far too thin to retain heat when you plop down a New York Strip).
For the beginner cook who doesn't have their own preferences or existing collection, this is a nice set to get them started, and it look nice too-- a good choice for a gift. This 10-piece set is a bit expensive (versus other entry-level sets) and has a couple of "filler" pieces, but is a well-rounded package. Recommended with caveats.
UPDATE NOV 2012: These pans continue to hold up surprisingly well after a year of solid usage, and I've grown increasingly fond of them, so increasing my rating from 4 stars to 5 stars. The outer surfaces have gotten discolored/stained from such regular usage but the interiors remain flawless, and I find I reach for these pans more often than some of my heavier old-school pans.
Love them!
I have had this set for almost a year. We use them every day. They look beautiful hanging in my kitchen and they just make cooking a little more fun. They have held up perfectly. I have a glass top stove so I was a little concerned when I read in the manual that they arent ideal for that type of stove, but I have never had an issue.
They are light in weight, but not in durability. They clean up easily and beautifully. I have used an SOS pad on the outside and it doesnt scratch. I have also found them in the dishwasher when my children have to clean the kitchen and they have remained scratch free. They actually look almost as good as the day I bought them! I am now ordering sets for my friends for Christmas!
A Year Later
I used some points from my credit card company to purchase this cookware set but wasn't completely sold on the orange color. A year later I am so glad that I didn't let the color keep me from getting this set. The one downside is that they are not dishwasher safe. On the other hand the nonstick works so well that it is effortless to wash these by hand. I have made sure to use utensils that won't scrach the coating, but these work great for everyday use. In the very distant future if I have to replace this set, I will definately buy again.
Love these!
I've had my RR cookware for just about 5 years now. It's great--works excellent on electric and gas stove tops, easy to clean and nothing sticks to it, even stubborn caramel sauce. I use these just about every single day and have not had any problems. I would definitely purchase these again.
Very Nice Cookware Set
I was not sure if the color of the cookware would fit in with the rest of my kitchen items that are black and chrome.
These are orange and fade to a lighter orange towards the tops of the pans.
They actually look great with the rest of my kitchen color scheme and fit right in.
I do know that the color does not affect the product quality itself, but I do think that color does play a role in purchasing certain items.
But the orange I can see looking great and being a great addition to anyones kitchen with just about any color scheme.
There is 6 pans and 4 lids in this set
My favorite pan is the 10" skillet, it is deep and you can fit a lot into it and not worry about the food spilling over.
The pans are a decent weight and do not feel flimsy or cheap at all.
They are really non stick pans, I cooked chicken breast without having to use any oil or sprays and nothing stuck!
Cooked sauces and nothing stuck! Cooking eggs, I was able to just tilt the pan when done cooking and they slid off onto the plate-
Everything is cooking evenly.
You could literally just wipe the pans with a paper towel and they would be cleaned off-- I would not consider that clean and I would never just wipe clean and think they were clean and ready for the next usage, but I am pointing out that these are non stick and work great!
I can see that it will be easier to cook healthier without having to use cooking sprays/oils!
No complaints what so ever about these pans!
I have purchased a set of these to give as a Christmas gift - I love these and I know the receipient will love them too!
Beautiful cookware set comes with all the basics needed for functional kitchen for the beginner or the professional cook.
It is truly beautiful functional cookware set. The orange color adds a nice pop to my kitchen,so I want to always have something cooking on the stove. It goes from stove top to oven with no problem. Soft-grip bright orange rubberized dual-riveted handles are comfortable and oven safe to 350 degrees.
Love the clear glass lids, so I can watch things cook without having to lift lid and get a steam burn, and the rubberized handles do not get hot on the stovetop like others do. This makes using the handles a little easier, like stock pot can be lifted while hot. * Caution if lid is not seated well and any steam escapes towards any handle, that handle will be too hot to touch.
These pots cook evenly and the food doesn't stick, so clean up is fast and easy. Be sure to wash the rims and around the rivets where the handles are attached soon after cooking, as these areas get harder to clean the longer food sets. I use wood or silicone utensils to avoid scratching and soft sponge for hand washing to keep them looking great. ~NOT DISWASHER SAFE~
Since this set contains basic pieces, you'll really use each and every pan. I highly recommend this set for anyone from beginning cooks to very experienced chef. Great Christmas, wedding shower, birthday gift or just because you love your cook.

Beautiful to Display and Use
Having this beautiful and durable gradient yellow cookware makes cooking even more fun. The non-stick properties are great so far, and I only hand-wash my cookware, so they are as beautiful now as when they were new several months ago. I don't use high heat because I read warnings about it, and unfortunately, they also warn not to use cooking sprays so I don't. So far I have had no problems with food sticking, but I do cook with butter. The thickness and heft of the products are good, they feel substantial, but not heavy. The lids are also very nice. The only thing I would change would be to make the handle holes thinner for hanging. They seem bulkier than necessary, but maybe it's to err on the side of safety.
WOW! This is a great set!
I did purchase these scratch and dent for a portion of how much they cost brand new, and to be honest, I couldn't tell a difference other than the box showed it was previously opened.
I've have various pot/pan sets over the years. Now that I'm 30, I really need to get a durable "grown up" set. Because of the colour, price, and reviews, I went for this set.
The pans/pots are legit NONSTICK. I can cook an egg without it sticking (cue cheesy infomercial music with audience oooing and ahhhing)
They heat up evening! And quick! So easy to clean, too! (NO MORE SOAKING POTS AND PANS!)
My only tiny complaint, and it's very tiny and has nothing to do with the functionality of the product, is that the colour is darker than the picture shows, which is understandable. I just thought this was a dark teal/jungle green and it's actually a dark green. (I know, that sounds so stupid, but I would have gotten the lime green set because it would match all of my dinnerware better than this set. I'M JUST THAT TYPE OF PERSON!)
So, if you need a reliable pot/pan set, consider getting one of these! Even cheaper if you get the scratch and dent sold through OnlineShopDealer!
Great pans
Had these pans for about 9 months now and they are great. The non-stick coating is still holding strong and they are really easy to clean. Would buy again if they broke for some reason for sure.
