Great first time indash video
Wiring harness = 15 minutes
Install of the head unit = 30 minutes
DVD playing Deadmau5 while driving down the HWY = Priceless!
Beyond simple to install and the 3" screen is just fine for a first time in-dash unit. I have a 2001 Dodge Durango and the factory radio slipped out and the new unit went in with no issues. Parking brake bypass is simple, just ground it... BlueTooth antenna wire is not really touched, and my iPhone 4s was able to sync and play audio and take calls from over 20ft away.
Really happy, and the price was in my range. I would highly suggest this for a first time buyer, and someone just looking to do a simple upgrade.
The device is BEYOND simple to use.
Slow to load DVD's and CD's. MP3's play just fine and the front USB port had no issues with a 32gig thumb drive. MP4 video's were a pain, as I'm still having issues with different codec's. VCD's work beyond well as well.
I didn't have many worries about buying this, because I didn't care about DVD playback or the bluetooth feature. I just wanted something that looked really good, and could make my cruddy old speakers sound better than the unit that had been in the car before. (Of course anything would be better than what was in it) There are a LOT of features to this bad boy that you probably won't use, but I can easily recommend it for everyone; from casual listeners to those that want the neighborhood to know they're coming home from five miles away.
The design and features are pretty straightforward and easy to learn if you're willing to have a good sit-down with them, and for questions, just resort to the manual. HOWEVER, the manual is absolute crap if you don't know how to install a stereo. It gives the reader basic pictures that don't explain much at all. For that, I just double-checked my methods on the internet since I had a good idea of what I needed to do before shopping for a stereo unit in the first place. This is the first one I've ever installed, and it was extremely simple to do.
The smallest downside I've encountered is that some features (like the ever-important 'LOUD' and 'RANDOM' buttons my tastes require) are only accessible through the remote control, so the user HAS to use it, and the remote HAS to be pointed directly straight at the unit. You can't control it from an angle, or while you're driving. Maybe it's a safety thing the designer tried to implement, but I was just not amused.
All in all, I like this stereo unit! I would definitely recommend it to anyone that wants that quality sound without breaking the bank.
AMAZING HEAD UNIT!
I have purchased several head units and this is an amazing machine! Has a rear connection for a back up camera. A huge remote. The pic is a bit deceiving but in a good way. I was delightedly surprised when, I opened the box and seen the huge remote control. The buttons are easy to see and easy to use. The 80W per channel is very crisp and clear. I had it professionally installed and the installer stated the same unit or "like" unit would be about $300.00 to $400.00 in a department store. The installer also stated he liked the head unit and that it was a very good quality unit that he wouldn't mind having himself. I paid about $100.00 bucks! Loaded with features such as, SD card, USB, IPOD connection, CD, DVD, and love the Bluetooth feature! I have answered calls with this and the mic level is perfect! You can hear the caller and the caller and can hear your loud and clear! The back lighting is a beautifully glowing very bright luminescent blue. It's nice and bright so no matter how dark you can see it clearly! The DVD play back on the vivid 3.2 inch LCD screen is just like watching a DVD at home. The picture quality is just beautiful. I also, find the security detachable face plate a good feature to have. I have this unit in my Jeep Wrangler. I usually ride with the top off so it's good to know, I can remove the face plate. I replaced the stock OEM arm rest and replaced it with a Rugged Ridge armrest with a locking arm rest pad. I just detach the face plate and place it in the face plate case and lock it in my armrest. So no matter where, I park it's safe knowing that passerby's can't see my stereo. All you will see is a black area where a stereo should be and a small flashing red LED. The SD digital card is exposed; however, with the declining price of SD cards it's not that big of a deal. Or you can simply remove the card. All in all, I must admit the Bluetooth feature is my favorite and it was easy to pair. Note: This unit has a lot of RCA plugs in the rear of the unit. Even the installer stated for a single DIN unit he never seen that many RCA connections. This unit can be upgraded to add lots of other devices. Perhaps devices that haven't been invented yet for use in the automobile. I have owned a Sony Xplod head unit before with some off the same features and by far this unit is the way to go. This isn't about how much you save. It's about how much you get.
El reproductor esta chevere, el tamaño es bien, es comodo, de facil instalacion... lee dvd originales y quemados... el envio fue rapido y seguro
BOSS DVD +
THIS IS A NICE SETUP FOR THE PRICE ALTHOUGH IT DOES NOT HAVE THE QUIET STARTUP MODE, WHICH ALL OF MY OTHER CAR SYSTEMS HAVE. BUT GOOD BANG FOR THE BUCK $$$$$$$$$$ THANKS AMAZON...
An impressive DVD head unit
Exceeded all my expectations. The DVD screen has video display quality like the Samsung S4 smart phone. The 80w per channel is impressive
Great radio! Amazed at it!
Ok let me first by saying, that this radio was a good buy, even though I had to order one part for it so that Cartoys could install it.
Having the ability to watch movies, listen to music via Bluetooth or my usb stick and all is a dream come true! And the calls work well to. I love it.
boss car player mp3 and dvd palyer
Very nice looks good and so far have had no problem easy to install and use, slick looks and design love it every ride
Great radio for the money
I bought this radio for my grand-daughter and she absolutely loves it. She loves the remote control so that she can change stations even when she is outside of the car.
I purchased this radio for my beater, a 1989 Nissan sentra, when it's cheap Fusion head unit went up. I've never had a problem out of Boss in the past so I decided to go with this. The bluetooth is excellent, I can go probably 50 yards from my car without the music playing via bluetooth on my iphone to stop, the call quality is excellent, no one can notice I'm using bluetooth. I used a parking break bypass to test out the DvD feature since my vehicle doesn't have a proper parking break switch. The sound quality on my 6.1 system sounds excellent, while the screen is small for viewing movies the picture quality couldn't be much better. I have no complaints and I will happily by from boss again.
